The Founder
David Plympton has over 35 years of extensive sailing and power boating experience from racing sail boats, to charter work in the Pacific Northwest, South Florida and Caribbean. Prior to forming Breakwater Boats and Yachts, David has 17 years experience in the hospitality and vacation membership industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Florida State University, School of Business.

Our objective in forming Breakwater Boats is to provide our members the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of a quality boat without the burden and hassles of ownership, by offering a professionally managed boat share program at a fraction of the cost of ownership. Breakwater Boats members have all the benefits of using their boat without the costs and hassle that goes with it, which ultimately provides more time to enjoy the water with family and friends. Gone are the concerns and confines of traditional boat ownership. We own the boats and take care of everything. We strive to provide a carefree sensible and easy alternative to boat ownership and rental programs – at a fraction of the cost, while maintaining the highest quality and services.
With our Lease share boat program, members enjoy the exclusivity of individual ownership with the advantage of shared expenses. For the all-inclusive fee, we take care of all the responsibility of dockage, service, maintenance, insurance.
Our program also does away with the high down payment, long-term monthly mortgage payments and depreciation typical with individual boat ownership. All you have to do is show up and hit the water. Breakwater Boats offer a unique partnership by providing members who enjoy the pleasures of the boating experience and delivering the reality at a sensible price.
